Kiko Extra Volume Lip Gloss in 06 Apple Red

Kiko Extra Volume Lip Gloss in 06 Apple Red  £6.90 for 6.5ml/0.21 fl.oz .expiration: 12 months.
Day 2 of my in the red challenge.

As you can see I got bolder but like NYC's lip slider in Sugar Baby Kiko's Apple Red extra volume lip gloss is not all that it seems. In the tube it looks like a deep sumptuous red that could turn ones lips into a Gothic blood like hue, but in fact its pretty light and playful.

I bought a few Kiko glosses last year at sale price so I paid £3 instead of the usually £6.90 price (bargain). The packaging is akin to some H&M glosses I own, big sturdy tube, doe foot applicator. I'm not really one who is fussy about applicators just as long as it doesn't fall off, have stray hairs, feels rough or gets bent out of shape, its all fine to me. I like the packing but I'm neither over or underwhelmed . It's simple, it's basic and sometimes I prefer simplicity over frills and quills, especially in places that it doesn't need to be in (boring much ... me? ok).

Above you can see the Kiko's doe foot. In comparison to other doe foots it's longer, more flexible and always gives a great amount of product for you too apply onto lips but, not too much. It feels comfortable, not scratchy at all and I think it does its just job perfectly. Although you'll have to blend out the streaks (a down side) by pressing your lips lightly together but, that's no biggie for me.

The intensity of this shade can be built on but beware its very glossy.

This gloss is very smooth, very glossy. The colour and texture you get is sumptuous. This gloss is marketed as a lip enhancing product said to make your lips gain more volume aka look bigger. Well in general all glosses can make your lips appear bigger, its all in the shine and colour I suppose. I don't notice any new volume but, I do notice the great shade and glossy effect I get, and for that this gets lots of pluses.

Now that I've worn this shade up and down town, I can't imagine why I feared it so. I compare this fear to the same emotion you might have when you buy a new top, at first it feels different but, after a few wears out in public you fall in love with it. Then you start living in it, until it feels like a third hand and you can't imagine why you never wrapped it around your person sooner.

I was a brave and wore it at a double whopper strength. The world didn't end and stars didn't fall so I take that as a good sign ;). Looks like I'm getting into the stride of things. It made me feel more womanly than usual. This feeling has strengthened my conviction that this challenge is something that I needed to do. Red apple is a perfect shade for summery weather and surprised me at how easy and comfortable it was to wear.

Just one last thing ... this gloss and water doesn't mix well. It sort of repels it which makes you lips feel like jelly and a bit globby not in a bad way. Just thought I'd put that out there  because it's a feature. Look at me talking on and on I guess you want to know the ingredients (maybe, maybe not? look below).

Oh + it smells like molasses and tastes a little bit sweet but tacky and plastic like (the things I do for you).
