Wait, hold up - this is not the long-awaited nude lip for dark skin post I have been trying to redo - this is the ex-post. What is an Ex-Post? Well, just like any Ex - it's a lil' complicated, long-winded and something that's a relief to be finished, done and dusted and sent out the door ages ago. This post will rectify my mistake - by showcasing all the old nude lips for dark skin photos. Unfortunately, some shades and even brand colours have been discontinued (or I've finished/decluttered it) and since I took photos at different times etc. the lighting varies.
My New Plan is to be much more succinct, possibly only showing 5 or 4 lip shades/products in each Nude Lip category and breaking them up into different posts instead of one long one. I don't know why I'm making this out to be some big thing (it's really not) I just guess I want to cover all the bases as I remember when I really wanted a nude lip shade and couldn't seem to find any befitting shades which didn't make me look like I was dehydrated and in need of some lip balm .... Let's just say I went a little OTT with my search to do a post like this (ahem).
In order to keep my sanity, I'm going to keep my comments brief and not get into price/ingredients/process etc. Think of this as mere shade references/quick thoughts rather than a review. I won't be going into the specific categories now but, I will insert photo reference for nude lips on dark/black women (below) and briefly touch on the lip liner process. Hope this helps/makes up for the lengthy delay a little.

Mac Lustre Lipstick in Touch |
Touch: A Mac online makeup artists recommended this lipstick to me when I said that I wanted a nude natural lip colour. I'd say that this is a perfect brownish pink that will work on all darker hued skin. The texture and finish of Lustre lipsticks are creamy so be warned in summer this lipstick can break (mine did). Great if you're after moisture and a healthy sheen.

Mink: Very similar to Touch by Mac but darker in hue. The texture is not particularly creamy or super matte.

270: Almost like concealer lips for me but, the shimmer saves me. A true flesh-toned nude for my skin tone. Has a nice light perfume scent (all Inglot lipsticks seem to have this smell).

When I first tried it I found the smell nauseatingly bad like burning plastic but, recently swatching it (right now) its only a little bit plastic like and sweet (?). Anyway, this shade is a deep almost greenish brown metallic gloss that I think would look amazing on deep skin.  |

07: Kiko what have you done? This shade is so nice one of my favourite brown lip glosses and its discontinued. That is the nature of Kiko which I see as like a fast fashion brand. 07 is like a brown-purple lip gloss that is smooth, smells like molasses and feels as great as it looks.  |

Sweet Mocha: A solid brown flesh-toned lip gloss. Very pigmented and has a nice formula.
Lip Liners
A brown-based lip liner for dark skin can pretty much make most if not all lip shades work. In the collection of photos below, I've used each differing lip liner with NYX Matte Naked (a dusty pale pink) lipstick to create a nude for my skin tone. Of course, you can use these liners with other nudes to create various variations. Another nude adapting nude lip colour can be berry toned/purples. It's interesting to see how lip liners can change the look of the same lip product.

Soft Brown: Anything but, soft in texture as its a very hard lip liner than I'd recommend putting over your lip base/lipstick/gloss or at least using on its side rather than at full point (ouch!). Creates a very nice natural colour though so I have rebought this several times. |

Light Brown: A warm almond brown. Has really nice ingredients/very short list. Creates a nice soft look with a smooth formula.

Glossy Pencil: A dewy light brownish pink. Long discontinued. A nice shade to use on its own but, not very practical to sharpen as it gets mushy.
Vegan Dream CosmeticsI've separated these lip swatches from the rest because this Indie company has completely vanished off the web and Etsy. I bought a few shades from the brand. Now, I can't say that I was completely fanatical about these lipsticks when I first tried them out but, over time I have grown super fond of the formula as its very moisturising and really comfortable on the lips. I love that the ingredients are all natural and they literally feel like a lip balm. However, since they are natural - I have had to discard one already which started to smell funky and soon after I bought them a few broke during use + it does take several swipes for the colour to build. Yet, I still feel like Vegan Dream Cosmetics has (had) something good going on. If the consistency (lipstick breaking) could be sorted out (perhaps package them differently) and market the line as a "light tint build-able balm" things could work out nicely. I certainly enjoy using them when I can. P.S. the shade range was pretty expansive - I just stuck to browns.
